Admissions & Enrollment

Sets out AISL's fair, transparent and student-centered admissions process, including non-discrimination commitments, age and grade placement, required documents, the step-by-step admissions process and the appeals procedure.

Teaching & Learning

9 policies

Establishes a coherent framework for assessing, monitoring and reporting student learning, aligned with the American Common Core Standards and IB philosophy, including MAP Growth testing and grading scales.

Defines AISL's culture of honesty, ethical scholarship and responsible use of technology and AI, including expected behaviours, definitions of misconduct, and the investigation and appeals process.

Language Policy

Describes how AISL develops multilingual, internationally minded learners: English as the language of instruction, compulsory French from Early Years, and support for home languages and English Language Learners.

Inclusion Policy

Outlines AISL's commitment to equitable access, participation and success for every learner through the Multi-Tiered System of Support, Individualized Education Plans, and partnership with families.

Homework Policy

AISL-ACA-005

Sets clear, age-appropriate expectations for meaningful homework by division, from play-based Early Years activities through independent study in High School, and defines the responsible use of AI.

Establishes consistent, transparent grading and reporting practices by division: developmental progress reports in Early Years, standards-based reporting in Elementary, and percentage grades with GPA in Secondary.

Explains how AISL makes evidence-based promotion decisions that keep students with their age peers whenever possible, with retention considered only in exceptional circumstances after documented intervention.

Describes the fair, consistent process for evaluating and awarding transfer credit to students joining AISL from accredited national and international schools, including grade placement and appeals.
